Course Overview

The TLM Level 1/Level 2 Certificate in Financial Literacy aims to recognise the connecting finance-specific information and understanding to financial decision-making. Learners learn how to maximise their budget, preserve financial sustainability, and maintain financial well-being. Besides understanding finance management, learners will also explore diverse career avenues, setting the stage for success in various industries, with an emphasis on establishing a strong financial footing for their career.

Learners have the opportunity to:

  • engage in learning that is relevant to them and that will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for safe working practices
  • achieve a nationally-recognised Level 1/Level 2 qualification
  • develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning.

Assessment: 100% examination. A multiple choice examination for Unit 1, 2 and 3.

Unit 2

  • How does the world of banking work?  
  • What do I need to know to understand my payslip?  
  • How do we make payments?  
  • What are the pros and cons of borrowing?  
  • How can I pay for things abroad?  How can I manage financial challenges?  
  • Where can I go to get financial help and guidance?  
  • How could I best invest my money?

Unit 3

  • What would be methods to enhance your financial literacy for future careers?
  • What does it mean to have financial wellbeing? 
  • What financial decisions should you make to have long term career success?  
  • How can we best understand interest, inflations and savings?
