NCFE CACHE Level 1/2 Technical Award in Health and Social Care

Course Overview

The Level 1/2 Technical Award in Health and Social Care is designed for learners who want an introduction to health and social care that includes a vocational and project-based element. The qualification will appeal to learners who wish to pursue a career in the health and social care sector or progress onto further study.

Assessment:

The qualification has 2 assessments externally-set by NCFE: one non-exam assessment and one written examined assessment.

15 hours non-exam assessment - This is externally-set, internally marked and externally moderated:  synoptic project that is completed in controlled conditions  (50% of the final grade) 

1 hour 30 minutes examined assessment - This is externally-set and externally marked,  written exam (50% of the final grade)

  • What is the difference between provisions and settings?
  • What career opportunities are there in the sector?

Term 2:

  • Do we all develop the same way at the same time?
  • What are the legislations that underpin procedures?

Term 3:

  • Do we all develop the same way at the same time?
  • What are the legislations that underpin procedures?

Term 4:

  • What individual care needs might a client have?
  • How can we access the different settings?

Term 5:

  • What individual care needs might a client have?
  • How can barriers to partnership work be overcome?

Term 6:

  • What individual care needs might a client have?

Year 11

Term 1:

  • Why does the service user need to be at the centre of any planning cycle?
  • Controlled assessment practice

Term 2:

  • Controlled assessment.

Term 3:

  • Controlled assessment

Term 4:

  • Controlled assessment.

Term 5:

  • Revision.

Term 6:

  • Exam.

Out of School Learning (OSL) and Extra-Curricular Activities
