We are delighted to invite you to our annual Open Evening on Thursday 25 September 2025, from 5.30pm to 8.00pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore everything Westlands has to offer and get a feel for our school community.

During the evening, you can be taken on a personal tour by one of our student guides, allowing you to explore the areas that interest you most. You will also get to see the development of our new farm building and Science classrooms.

The tour will give you a glimpse into the diverse facilities and departments that are key to our students' success, including our:

• Sports Facilities and new on-site Gym
• School Library
• Construction Skills Centre
• Engineering and DT Facilities
• Art and Photography Rooms
• Music Rooms and Drama Facilities
• Media Suite and Dance Studio
• Academic departments such as English, Maths, Science, and Ebacc subjects

This is also a wonderful opportunity to meet our dedicated staff and students. They will be available throughout the evening to answer your questions and share what makes Westlands such a special place to learn and grow.

We want to make it as easy as possible for every family to visit us. If you are unable to attend our Open Evening, we would be delighted to welcome you and your family on one of our Open Morning Tours.  This is a fantastic alternative and a chance to see what our school is like on a normal day.

Westlands School offers an optional Mathematics Aptitude Test to provide prospective students with an opportunity to showcase their mathematical abilities. This test can give students a chance to demonstrate their strengths in mathematics, which can be helpful in supporting their application to our school. Places will be offered to children who score highest and places offered under this criterion will not exceed 10% of the school’s planned admission number, i.e a maximum of 29 places for the Year 7 intake. 

Overall, the mathematics aptitude test can be a valuable tool in the admissions process.
