Westlands School Ofsted Report: May 2024
We are delighted to announce that following our inspection on 14 and 15 May 2024, Ofsted has confirmed that Westlands School continues to be a good school in all areas.
The report is a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the invaluable support of our families. We are proud of the many positive comments and key highlights, which include:
An Ambitious and Engaging Curriculum
The inspectors noted that we provide an "ambitious and broad curriculum" and that "careful consideration is given to arranging the key knowledge that pupils need to learn." The report also praised how reading is "woven through the curriculum" to help all students become fluent readers.
Positive and Supportive Environment
Our school's supportive culture was celebrated, with the report stating that "pupils benefit from a wide range of extra-curricular experiences." Inspectors specifically mentioned students "proudly talk[ing] about participating in activities, such as school productions or helping to look after animals on the school farm."
Strong Parent and Community Feedback
The report highlighted the positive views of our parents and carers, with one parent quoted as saying: "The school supports pupils to believe in themselves and raises their aspirations."
