Welcome to the Geography website!

Geography here are the Westlands School is both interesting and enjoyable. From the beginning of year 7 to your last lesson in Year 13 (if you decide to take it!) we aim to challenge views, consider effects and recognise patterns in this ever-changing world.

Geography is the most diverse subject in the world without which life would be a lot shallower. From tectonics, hydrology and climate change to urbanisation and industry, geography allows us to explore the awe and wonder of the natural world alongside the complex activity of the human race. The earth (and the people on it) is facing its greatest challenges in its 4,600 million year history. We must learn to adapt and survive in a constantly changing environment and geography equips you with the tools to do just that. The subject draws on skills and knowledge from across the curriculum and applies them to the real world. And most of all – it’s exciting!
