Mr D Chaplin (Head of Department) Mr Chaplin has been at Westlands for 3 years in which time he has worked on numerous projects and performances. Previously Mr Chaplin worked in Ashford where he was in charge of the Drama department. Previously to teaching Mr Chaplin was a professional actor working in theatres in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and Plymouth.

Miss R Henry (Teacher of Drama) After completing a BA Theatre and Performance degree, Miss Henry worked with several directors as well as acted in plays at the Barbican, the Drum and the Theatre Royal all in Plymouth . She has also performed in several musicals in theatres in the South East as well as Manchester . Miss Henry currently runs the Key Stage 3 Drama Club for students in years 7-9 on Wednesdays 3:15 – 4:15pm. |
Miss M McClean Miss McClean has been teaching at the Westlands school for 6 years. She teaches Drama at Key Stage Three. She particularly enjoys the Year Eight scheme of work as it is varied and fun. Miss McClean is Head of Media Studies and English at Key Stage Five and feels teaching Drama is a nice distraction from the older members of the school and enables her to get to know the younger members a little better. |
Miss Faulkner Miss Faulkner joined Westlands in 2008. She trained firstly at a Drama and Dance college and then went on to specialise and complete a degree in Secondary Drama Education in Cardiff. Throughout her training Miss Faulkner appeared in many productions including plays by Henrik Ibsen and Franca Rame. She also worked as part of a Theatre in Education group in university touring devised and scripted productions to schools all over South Wales. Since graduating Miss Faulkner has worked with pupils in Kent, London and Yorkshire as well as her native South Wales and in 2006 travelled around the World gaining access to many different cultural and theatrical experiences which she hopes to be able to bring to Westlands. Miss Faulkner loves teaching Drama and is very proud to be a part of the excellence that the pupils bring to this reputable Drama department. |
Mr Sheach
Mr Sheach started teaching at The Westlands School in January 2008. Mr Sheach is thoroughly enjoying the teaching of 3 Year 7 classes this year and is looking forward to a greater involvement within the department next academic year. Mr Sheach has an honours degree in English and Drama from Southampton University and worked as a local authority Drama advisor in Hampshire for nine years. He moved to Kent in April 1999 and previously taught English and Drama at Ashford Christ Church before moving to The Westlands. Outside of school Mr Sheach enjoys watching and directing Drama, travelling and fancy hotels, cars, curries and Portsmouth FC. |
